Soon after the last Sioux Maq journal entry, I visited my brother in Pensacola for his Navy flight surgeon graduation. He took me to expensive restaurants like "dharma blues" and paid for my seviche and white wine. He said that he wanted to spoil me on my visit so that when I get back to Pittsburgh, I could realize how miserable my "ghetto" lifestyle is and therefore try to change it. I countered this by pointing out that his mcmansion was more "ghetto" than my apartment. He lived alone and had several flat screen TVs still in their boxes and the entire William Sonoma catalog of kitchen appliances, never used. Nothing in the fridge but Dr. Pepper and a carton of cigarettes. </div><div> </div><div></div><div>2. The other bitterly icy night, my boyfriend and I drove to Bridgeville to meet his mom so she could give us some of her extra "Fuel Perks" because he was broke from a recent trip to Japan to visit friends and Firestarter, one of his favorite bands. We were meeting her at the Get-Go and bickering. And then -- mid-bicker -- he played me the Devo cover of "Satisfaction" for the first time. If you've ever heard this song, you can understand why we both stopped to laugh, laugh, laugh. </div><div> </div><div></div><div>3. Margaret Cox is my boss. She plays the credit card machine. She stumbled upon a Sioux Maq wheatpaste on the southside trail without knowing that I made it. She snapped a picture.
